Sigh. It's February.

I'm glad February is the shortest month of the year. Because it always seems like the yuckiest one. I've been hearing a lot about Seasonal Affective Disorder lately, and am beginning to think there is really something to that. Everything always seems so much harder this time of year. It's easier to get overwhelmed, harder to get motivated, nothing seems like any fun. it's not that I can blame the weather, we've actually had to open the windows upstairs a few times - it's been so WARM!!! Of course it hasn't helped that our weekends have been devoid of any fun plans for a almost a month. Weekends are usually crazy, and I look forward to those rare weekends with nothing scheduled, but after a string of several in a row I am going a bit stir-crazy! Fortunately, starting this weekend until Spring Break we have something going on most Saturdays. So hopefully the monotony is coming to an end. This Saturday is nothing big, just a Chemistry class / show? (not sure) at Bear Creek Nature Center. And February will be over soon!

So lets see - as I was just mentioning, not much exciting has happened since our Ski Trip. Brian was in charge of the Soup Kitchen last weekend, it seemed to go okay. We had a conference with Lily's teacher last week - she is doing super, as always. We got her signed up for a week of "Space Camp" at the museaum in Denver this summer. It will be right after we get back from our vacation to Glacier. She is also signed up for a week of "Zoo Camp" in June. Still hoping to get a couple more weeks booked at some other places too, don't want her getting bored!

Spring Break is only a few weeks away, (still have to get through CSAP first though - yuck!). Our trip to Chicago is starting to take shape a little. I ordered our City Passes (which will get us into the museaums we are wanting to see) and have a rough itinerary:

Fri Mar 27 - Arrive @ Union Station ~4pm, Dinner at Chicago Firehouse Restaraunt
Sat Mar 28 - Museum of Science & Industry, Maybe -Navy Pier in PM
Sun Mar 29 - Adler Planetarium & Sears Tower
Mon Mar 30 - Field Museum, Dinner @ Rainforest Cafe
Sun Mar31 - Shedd Aquarium in AM, Depart Union Station ~2pm

So that is exciting. Still a little nervous about the overnight trip both ways, hope we are able to get enough sleep! Also hope the weather is good, we aren't planning much outside stuff but since our hotel is so close it would be nice to be able to walk to the museaums and save on bus / taxi money.

Other than that...oh we are having to get new credit cards because apparently someone tried to charge something to ours in London...the bank thought it was suspicious and immediately shut down our cards - found that out the hard way when we tried to order pizza! But the new ones will hopefully get here today. It's given me an excuse to use my "back-up" Disney Visa. Maybe now I will actually have some reward points when we go next summer. And we finally got all of our taxes (state and federal) filed. It seemed more complicated this year... partly because we lost a W-2 in the middle of things, and had some confusion about one of Brian's bonuses from work... hopefully we did everything right finally. Watched the State of the Union Address (or whatever it was called this year) First time in a very long time I have felt inspired to watch it - very cool indeed. It's so nice not to feel ashamed of our govornment anymore.

That's all I can think of. It has truly been a boring month. Hopefully things are about to get more interesting, if not I will go crazy soon!!!!
